TWO early goals for Witham set the tone of the match and Gorleston’s attempts to recover were finished by a red card for their goalkeeper Jake Jessup in the 46th minute.
A good run by Witham’s Deese Madia in the ninth minute on the left forced a corner from which Adam Vyse put the home side ahead. Three minutes later Madia doubled Witham’s lead when his run and cross from the right was converted by Shakeel Morris.
Gorleston weathered the storm and began to build attacks towards the end of the first half.
