■BASINGSTOKE kept their hold on the top of the league with a strong performance away at Ashford Town
Two first-half goals set them up nicely to keep control of the game overall. Ben Cook opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after an even opening period. Basingstoke then grew into the game more and grabbed their second four minutes later, Simon Dunn netting after some good interplay to split the Ashford defence.
