■ IT was an afternoon to forget for Phoenix Sports as they were defeated by Littlehampton Town in a drab affair.
The first goal in the 24th minute when a corner for the visitors was bundled home at the near post by right-back Luis-Tijan Sparks.
Richard Pingling managed a rare Phoenix shot on target while at the other end Sam Freeman saved well from George Gaskin after the break. But it was Gaskin who sealed the points for Littlehampton soon after when capitalised on a poor defensive clearance to fire home.
