■ A LAST-MINUTE breakaway goal by Alex Fair grabbed all three points for the league’s new boys.
As expected Hassocks started strongly but it was the visitors who struck first thanks to powerful volley by Kamani McFarlane.
The lead lasted eight minutes before a defensive mix-up allowed Fair to nip in, beating keeper Joe Coleman to the ball and tapping home.
Lewis Finney gave the hosts the perfect start to the second half. Herne Bay controlled the play throughout the second half and were rewarded with an equaliser by McFarlane. Bay hit ...
