MERSTHAM and Haringey lost ground on leaders Dorking Wanderers after a tense, tight affair.
Third-placed Merstham certainly had the best openings against second-placed Boro, but a draw was probably a fair result.
Moatsiders top scorer Walter Figueira had the best chance of the game in the 17th minute, when he beat Boro’s offside trap and raced clear but keeper Valery Pajetat did well to stick out a foot and deny him.
Moments later, Figueira brought another fine save from Pajetat low to his right from 25 yards.
