MARGATE put their wretched pre-season form behind them to kick-start the new league campaign with an impressive win away at Brightlingsea Regent.
The Blues started brightly and took the lead within the opening 15 minutes as two of their new summer signings linked up as John Ufuah raced to the by-line before crossing for Luke Carey who poked the ball home.
The visitors looked to continue to add to their early goal with Ufuah, Carey and Freddie Moncur seeing chances wasted as Jay Saunders side continued to impress.
