ASHTON UNITED have bolstered their squad ahead of the end of season run-in as they look to secure an Evo-Stk NPL Premier play-off spot.

Monday’s 2-1 win at fellow promotion hopefuls Stourbridge strengthened their position in the table and left them three points ahead of the Glassboys in fifth.

The Robins have won six of their last eight league games but joint-bosses Steve Halford and Paul Phillips have moved to strengthen their ranks with three new additions.

Former Ashton midfielder Lee Rick joins from Step 4 club Trafford, attacking midfielder Reece Gray arrives from Hyde United and goalkeeper Greg Hall has signed on dual registration from 1874 Northwich.

Meanwhile, Eddie Toner has left Hurst Cross to join Evo-Stik NLP South side Northwich Victoria and Ben Wharton has moved to Step 5 club Colne on dual registration.
