GRESLEY have appointed former St Kitts and Nevis international goalkeeper Damion Beckford-Quailey as their new manager.

Beckford-Quailey arrives from United Counties League Premier side Leicester Nirvana and replaces Gary Ricketts who stepped down as player-manager last month due to personal reasons.

He led Nirvana to second in the UCL last season, only missing out on promotion to Step 4 on goal difference, and will be aiming to better Gresley’s 16th-place finish in the Evo-Stik NPL Division One South.

“We knew he was right because of his approach and the style in which he manages,” said chairman Barry North.

Beckford-Quailey has announced that Hannah Dingley will follow him from Nirvana and be his assistant at the Moat Ground. She previously had a spell at Gresley as part of Gary Norton’s coaching staff.

Former West Bromwich Albion striker Brian Quailey and Chris Cowan are also joining the club to take coaching roles.
