North Ferriby United handed winding up petition

North Ferriby’s problems appear to be going from bad to worse with Hull Live reporting that the club have been handed a winding up petition regarding an unpaid debt concerning a payment due for pitch maintenance.
A petition concerning the debt, which is believed to be around £8,000, is set to be heard at Hull County Court on March 15.
The club, who are currently cut adrift at the bottom of the Northern Premier League, could face a range of punishments including a possible points deduction.
It marks another milestone in what has been a chaotic season both on and off the pitch for the Yorkshire club.
Earlier in the week owner Carl Chadwick is believed to have travelled down to Wembley in an attempt to argue the case for his unpopular proposals to both re-name and re-locate the former FA Trophy winners.
However, due to a logistical error North Ferriby’s case had to be adjourned with a new date for the hearing yet to be announced.
North Ferriby fans campaigning against the proposals received a boost at the start of the year when the Northern Premier League came out firmly in opposition, however the FA will ultimately make a final decision on whether Chadwick’s plans can proceed.
