Northern Premier League Round-Up

Warrington Town moved clear at the top, while South Shields and Farsley Celtic slipped up.

Northern Premier

It was a superb weekend for Warrington Town after the Wire moved four points clear at the top of the table following on from their emphatic 4-1 victory at relegation threatened Mickleover Sports.
Paul Carden’s side profited on second-placed Farsley Celtic losing 2-0 at Lanacaster City and third-placed South Shields‘ only mustering a point at home to Buxton.
Meanwhile, both Nantwich Town and Gainsborough Trinity kept pace with the leading pack, after recording victories over Bamber Bridge and Stalybridge Celtic respectively.
At the bottom of the table, 21st-placed Workington failed to boost their survival prospects after falling to a 2-1 home defeat to Hyde United and Stafford Rangers remain just above to drop zone after their game with Marine ended in a stalemate.
