THIS may have been the last game before Christmas but there was little festive spirit on display as both teams battled hard to ensure they took all three points from a pulsating and hectic encounter.
There was certainly not much comfort and joy for the home fans whose team reverted to a direct approach instead of their usual footballing style.
It failed to pay any dividends as their first shot on target was deep in second-half stoppage time and was cleared – a disappointing return.
