■LANCASTER CITY bounced back from a thumping at Stalybridge, while Whitby’s New Year win at Workington looked a distant memory.
It all started on 11 minutes when full-back Kev Burgess’ ball infield slowed on a heavy pitch and Sam Bailey nipped in ahead of Andrew May to slot low past keeper Ryan Whitley.
The on-loan York keeper blocked low to his right from Glenn Steel soon after, while parrying Charlie Bailey’s effort low to his right, soon after.
