SUTTON were involved in a local derby with near-neighbours Hednesford and having had the relegation issue settled last week, they played with freedom.
Sutton took the lead in the fourth minute when good work between Justin Richards and Checklaine Steele led to a cross which left Karl Hawley with a simple tap in.
Hednesford replied with a shot that Jono Brown in the Sutton goal tipped over the bar.
Sutton went straight down to the other end and a dummy by Howley allowed Richards a shot that was deflected over.
