SOUTH Shields reinforced their promotion credentials with a deserved win.
They wasted no time in opening the scoring, David Foley taking a pass from Craig Baxter to score from the edge of the area.
Basford’s main first half threat came from Dan Creaney who twice went close with headers, but they found it hard to make inroads. Dillon Morse scored the visitor’s second on 28 minutes, getting on to the end of a long cross.
