JONNY Margetts’ 28thminute quality header settled a scrappy affair in Matlock’s favour and condemned basement club North Ferriby to a 13th successive defeat. Lee Beevers, who threatened to win the man-of-the-match award from Michael Williams, hoisted a pinpoint cross into the danger area and Margetts rose majestically to plant a fine header into the top corner.
Matlock dominated the opening half but lost their way after the break in a second half of precious few chances and attacking intent.
