Mariners keep up the pressure

SOUTH Shields kept the pressure on league leaders Farsley with a comprehensive win over mid-table Hyde in front of a 1,867 crowd at Mariners Park.
Lee Mason gave Shields a half-time lead after an opening 45 minutes of few chances, the Mariners then stepping on the gas.
Second-half goals from Craig Baxter, Nathan Lowe and defender Dillon Morse brought a 15th home win. South Shields joint-manager Graham Fenton was pleased with his side’s efforts.
