Lowe at the double for Shields

MARINE were left to rue an early penalty miss as South Shields came away winners at the Marine Travel Arena.
Home captain Danny Mitchley was felled in the penalty box by visiting goalkeeper Liam Connell after just three minutes, but Marine’s woes from the spot this season continued as Steve Irwin’s effort was saved by Connell.
South Shields continued to have the better of the firsthalf chances with Robert Briggs going close from a free-kick before Connor Bell struck just wide of the near post.
