Briggs enjoys day one wonder

A ROBERT Briggs thunderbolt separated Radcliffe FC and South Shields in a tightly contested opening day tie.
Both sides battled out for long spells with 10 men as Jason Gilchrist and Harry Winter saw red either side of the halftime whistle.
The visitors started the better of the two teams. Joshua Gillies caused the Boro defence problems before whipping a great ball into the box but nothing came of the chance. Robert Briggs had nother chance for the Mariners but his effort fiew high and wide.
