WORKINGTON continue to set the early season pace at the top of the Northern Premier League North West Division after beating City of Liverpool 1-0 at the Berry Street Garage Stadium.
The opening exchanges were tight, with neither side making an impression on the game, however as the first half progressed the visitors threatened and the Purps were indebted to debutant goalkeeper James Aspinall who made a number of key saves.
