■ NEWCASTLE Town’s improving home form continued with an impressive performance against Sheffi eld.
Castle took the lead on 17 minutes through Ryan McLean, the forward leaving the Sheffi eld defenders for dead with a superb run before poking home the opener for the hosts.
Castle doubled their lead shortly afterwards when Mick Conlon cut in from the left and bent the ball into the top corner of the net.
