A LATE Nathan Watson goal secured a dramatic win for Basford United at home to Atherton Collieries.
A first-half dominated by Basford was sparked into life after Caine Noble carried the ball to the edge of the Basford area before unleashing a shot which swerved away from Kieran Preston to give Atherton the lead. The hosts almost found an instant response, a curling effort from Jack Thomas striking the crossbar with Colls keeper Paddy Wharton stranded on his line following a mazy run from the winger.
