IF a game was decided on possession this would have been over at half-time but excellent defending from Colne kept a lively Ossett United at bay.
Ossett debutant Harry Gagen was on top form and impressed throughout at right-back.
The home side prodded and probed as the half wore on but a resolute Colne defence was equal to the challenge.
Colne looked to attack more after the break but it was the home side who continued to play the better football.
