DUNSTON won with the sole moment of real quality in 90 minutes.
Midfielder Jake Stafford floated a ball over Pickering’s left-back Dave Merris for Mark Fitzpatrick to control and drive home from a tight angle.
Pickering had a freekick that was so far off target it went out for a throw-in and there were multiple efforts from the Dunston side in the first half which disturbed the peace of Pickering Bowls Club.
Some credit was due to Merris for a late clear- ance off the line to deny substitute Andy Clark.
