KENDAL Town scored the only goal on the back of a fine defensive performance.
What turned out to be the winner came from Kendal’s first attack of the game only nine minutes in.
Hugo Rodriguez managed to sweep in a loose ball to gain the lead.
Just after the halfhour mark, Pickering’s keeper, Morgan Bacon, pulled off a superb save to deny Kendal their second goal of the game.
The second half brought much of the same as Pickering con-tinued to look for an equaliser, only to hit the post 60 minutes in.
