■THE Eagles secured their first home win of the season against North Leigh.
The visitors were very lively early on, forcing Bedford on to the back foot.
The home side, however, fought back, and opened the scoring with a well taken 24th-minute effort from Craig Mackail-Smith.
Four minutes later, Matt Harriott took advantage of a defensive slip to slot the ball home.
North Leigh could have pulled a goal back in the 56th minute, but John Mills’ shot rebounded off a post.
