BELPER Town won a closely fought encounter against Cambridge City.
An even first half gave no indication of who would take the points, but the visitors were handed a penalty on the stroke of half-time which Ryan Sharman failed to convert.
A Craig Nelthorpe freekick helped to break the deadlock when Danny South converted a fine farpost header for the hosts.
Despite having the majority of possession Cambridge found themselves two down after 69 minutes when Alex Peterson finished a well-constructed breakaway move.
