A BRACE from debutant Jamie Cooke kept Matlock Town two points behind league leaders South Shields as they defeated Bamber Bridge at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium.
Matlock took the lead on 11 minutes, Cooke racing in behind the defence before striking a superb outside-of-the-boot effort beyond Brig keeper Mateusz Hewelt.
Brig then had a series of chances to equalise, with Rob Apter and Harvey Gregson both coming close.
