■ A SERIES of fine saves by Newcastle keeper Owen Mooney helped his side earn a point.
Newcastle had the first chance with skipper James Askey firing wide but the visitors responded with Bradley Carroll’s deflected shot well saved by Mooney.
Newcastle took the lead from the spot when Jack Van Der Laan was tripped before picking himself up to fire home the penalty.
