■ DAVENTRY got off to the perfect start as they claimed three vital points.
The visitors took the lead in the second minute when Jack Bowen saw the Sutton keeper of his line and from the half way line had a speculative shot that dipped in.
A volley by Ryan Nesbitt was then finger tipped over the bar by James Martin in the Daventry goal.
Daventry increased their lead in the 50th minute when Nat Gornal Tyler slotted home.
Sutton halved the deficit in the 81st minute when Nesbitt was flattened in the box and he got up to steer the penalty home.
