■ A FIRST-HALF goal by Sporting’s Matt Fulloway proved the difference between the sides in a hard-fought match at Histon’s Bridge Road.
The visitors were dangerous on the break and Jumaane Meggoe should have converted an early chance.
The Stutes were then made to regret not clearing a high free kick into their box, which was eventually scrambled into their net by Fulloway.
Histon had their best spell of the game early in the second half when Luke Lindsay met a high cross, but his effort hit a post.
