South Shields slumped to defeat against bottom-half outfit Hyde to put a dampener on the opening of their impressive new main stand at the 1st Cloud Arena.

SOUTH SHIELDS slumped to defeat against bottom-half outfit Hyde to put a dampener on the opening of their impressive new main stand at the 1st Cloud Arena.
Hyde travelled north with the worst away record in the division but, after going behind to Will McGowan’s effort, the Tigers were soon 2-1 ahead through Jonah Mitchell and Liam Tongue strikes.
The Mariners took a seventh-minute lead when McGowan poked home after Alex Kempster nodded Conor Tee’s cross into his path.
