■ BRIDLINGTON went into this fixture knowing a win over Pontefract would be a big step towards safety.
Both created early chances, but it was the hosts who took advantage of some poor defending allowing Danny Earl to fire a shot in from the left.
Bridlington were unlucky not to extend the lead when a nice run from Ellis Barkworth, beating two challenges, passed the ball through to Louis Adlard who hit a post.
