■ CITY OF LIVERPOOL fell to a home defeat against Newcastle in a game of few chances and poor quality overall.
Town took the lead against the run of play in the fi rst half when Ethan Vale’s whipped corner from the left looped over Purps goalkeeper Ollie Martin and went all the way in.
