■ NORTH Shields moved to one point off the 
Northern Premier League Division One East play-offs as they comfortably beat Grimsby Borough at The Daren Persson Stadium.
Cameron Cunningham gave the hosts the lead just before half-time as he followed up to net after Liam Higton saved efforts from Dan Wilson and David Robinson, tapping home form close-range.
Shields controlled proceedings for the majority of the second half and got their second goal when Thomas Hipwell diverted Liam Doyle’s cross into his own goal to put his side clear.
