COLNE went down to a late goal after competing well in an end-to-end game.
Skelmersdale took the lead in only the third minute when Callum Lees squeezed the ball home at the near post.
But Colne drew level eight minutes later when Oli Roberts fired home a 20-yard shot.
Colne’s new signings looked impressive with Enock Lusiama hitting a post and Tom Hoyle seeing his close range header turned over the bar with a great save by Skem keeper Ben Barnes.
