■ WIDNES climbed off the bottom of the bottom after victory over Ramsbottom United and it is the ten-men Rams who now prop up the division after sinking to a ninth league defeat of the season.
The Whites took the lead after only four minutes when Tom Stephens nodded home.
Ste Irwin scored deep inside first-half stoppage-time to make it 2-0, and Michael Ellison’s men seemed to be cruising to victory when Lee Neville was sent off on the hour.
