AN eary goal by Sam Cartwright was enough to give Spalding United victory at Sutton Coldfield.
They went ahead in only the 11th minute when a ball to the far post was headed home by Cartwright.
Sutton replied with a succession of corners that ended with a fierce shot from Abdul Agabola which was beaten away by the keeper.
Sutton opened the second half with a strong run by Will Mansfield that ended with a strong shot that just cleared the crossbar.
