LEEK TOWN took advantage of being one of only two West games to go ahead to move into second place but only after being given a scare by a determined Bootle side and having to come from two goals down.
After an uninspiring first half the sides went into the break level at 0-0.
Leek were then rocked by two Bootle goals in three minutes. On 51 minutes Tom Peterson volleyed home from inside the area and then on 54 Simon Wills scored an overhead kick.
