■ CALLUM Lees’s goal saw Newcastle Town slip to a damaging defeat to Skelmersdale United at the Red Industries Stadium.
The first half was a turgid, scrappy affair, with neither team producing any definite scoring chances.
Skelmersdale took the lead shortly after the break. Newcastle goalkeeper Joe Slinn needlessly handled a back pass, and Lees headed home off the resultant free kick.
