A THREADBARE Bootle squad competed well, but two late goals in three minutes from Ryan Brooke and Cameron Rooney handed Linnets the three points.
Both had chances to take the lead, with Brooke going close, before he made amends when he slid a shot in. Bootle came out blisteringly in the second period and levelled in the first minute of the second half when Nivaldo scored.
