KAI Payne’s early goal proved enough to give Mossley victory over Bootle.
The hosts came in to the game on the back of two good results and made the perfect start, Payne controlling, before turning and scoring with a wonderful finish after just eight minutes.
The visitors created chances and were unlucky not to equalise when a spectacular effort from Tom Peterson crashed back off a post.
Payne went close again after the break and Peterson tested Tom Watson as both sides battled to get something from the game.
