TITLE-CHASING Hebburn Town put in a professional performance against visiting Carlton Town to keep them in joint-top spot.
The first-half ended goalless despite plenty of action in both final thirds.
The best of which fell to Carlton after 40 minutes when Alex Hardwick tried to bend his shot but keeper Newbrook kept the ball out with his feet.
The deadlock was broken five minutes after the restart -Olly Martin put the ball on a plate for Robbie Spence to head home the opening goal.
