DEMPSEY’S DUMPED

DAVE DEMPSEY saw his Clitheroe side battle back from 3-0 down to earn a valu able point at Chasetown last Saturday – and was reward ed with the sack. Dempsey led the Blues to fourth in the NPL West ta ble, having guided them to the play-off semi-finals last season.
In fact, since the former Widnes boss took charge of Clitheroe back in March, no manager has collected more points in NPL West than Dempsey’s 45. His departure was met by an angry response from Blues fans, forcing chair man Dave Frost to issue a lengthy statement explain ing his decision.
