MARSKEUnited ended their seven-match losing run in the league with a narrow victory over Basford United at Mount Pleasant.
An attritional first half saw few chances in the opening half hour but the game sprang to life when the visitors found the net through Remaye Campbell, only for the goal to be ruled out for a foul on Eddie Church in the build-up. Five minutes before half-time, Basford keeper Kieran Preston was tested for the first time, diving low to his left to keep out Donald Chimalilo’s shot.
