SOL SHINES AS MARINERS BOUNCE BACK AFTER LOSS

MARINE bounced back from their midweek defeat to Macclesfield with a deserved victory over Lancaster City as they moved up to fourth with a game in hand.
The first half was highly uneventful with the Mariners passing well from the back for large periods but unable to pierce the back line of City effectively.
Captains Simon Grand and Marine’s Josh Wardle shepherded their defences effectively in the opening 45 minutes.
The lacklustre first half gave way to a more entertaining second with three goals and a red card at the sidelines.
