KARL MARGINSON says he’s excited to be back in football management – and is adamant Trafford can turn their ‘false position’ around.
The 52-year-old has replaced Danny Caldecott at the North following his recent departure to NPL Division One West rivals Clitheroe.
Marginson famously led FC United of Manchester from the North West Counties League up to the National League North in a hugely successful 12-year spell.
And now he’s fired up to revive a Trafford side he takes over in the relegation zone.
Marginson, who oversaw a 2-2 draw with Runcorn Linnets in his first game in charge on Tuesday night, told the club’s website: “I’m extremely grateful and unbelievably excited to be back in the game that has provided me with some of the greatest experiences and life lessons that I’ve been blessed to receive.
“This gratitude is firstly to the chairman and directors of the club for showing belief in my abilities as a manager to take charge of the next stage of Trafford Football Club’s development.
“I’m absolutely certain that the first team’s current position is a false one and I’m confident the quality squad of players that Danny has put together have the right kind of attitudes, behaviours , and are more than capable of producing the positive results and exciting performances that the directors, teers and supporters of volun-

Since leaving Broadhurst Park in 2017, he has spent time as both a Head of Football Operations, as well as interim manager, of Radcliffe Borough and recently has been coaching in Trafford’s youth set-up.
Former Trafford captain Harry Winter is joining Marginson as assistant manager, while Steve Tobin is also o n board, as a coach.

“He has already brought his abilities and wisdom to our youth teams, and I believe he will now enhance the first team too.
“His track record is impressive, and we are keen to continue the link between ourselves and our youth section. I am looking forward to working with Karl.”
