■ GRANTHAM and Ashington fought hard at the Meres, with neither side able to emerge the victor.
Grantham fell behind after just five minutes when Oliver Thompson was fouled in the box and Connor Tomson converted from the spot.
Ashington hit a post at the start of the second half and Sam Muggleton’s long throws finally paid off for Grantham when Hinsley scored at the far post after 51 minutes.
Ashington scored a minute later when Muggleton turned the ball into his own goal before Van-Zandvliet saw straight red on the hour.
