■ XENON Bahula’s match-winning contribution for City of Liverpool turned around a contest his side still trailing with time running out.
The Purps’ wide man drilled home an equaliser with an emphatic finish, and it was from his low cross that unlucky Runcorn defender Alex Jones, making his first league start, turned into his own goal to decide the outcome.
It was a deserved victory for Paul McNally’s men, who prevailed in the same fixture last season.
