SKIPPER Matt Thornhill secured a vital three points for Basford United as they came back from behind to secure a win over Matlock Town.
Scott Boden gave the Gladiators the lead from a spot kick early in the second half, but two late goals from Victor Nieronnold and Thornhill gave the Ambers the dramatic victory.
It was a cagey first half for both sides with no huge chances for either to break the deadlock. Jack Thomas came closest with a stinging shot into Myles Wright’s hands.
