SPALDING were close to going top of the league following their home defeat of Shepshed.
Spalding took the lead after seven minutes when Nathan Stainfield scored a free header from a corner. The visitors took the sting out of the game six minutes later when Riley O’Sullivan stepped up to score from the penalty spot after he was fouled in the area.
